Easy stop to send to someone because the payoff is obvious. Big views, old walls, enough space to slow down a bit after the smaller streets of Alfama. Good place to reset the pace before moving on.

Things to Know
- Give it at least an hour if you want to enjoy the ramparts properly. There is not much shade up there, so water and a hat help in summer.
- Tickets are usually around €15. Online is easier if you do not want to wait around.
- Hours change by season. Earlier is better if you want fewer queues and softer light.
