Legal Notice under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (Japan)

This page sets out the information required under Article 11 of Japan's Act on Specified Commercial Transactions in relation to paid services provided by Flashvery (including the sale and purchase of guides).

1. Seller

Because the Service is currently operated as a sole proprietorship, we limit public disclosure of our address and telephone number for privacy reasons and will provide them individually upon request as stated above.

2. Sales price

  • The tax-inclusive price for each guide is displayed on its sales page.
  • The default currency is Japanese Yen (JPY). If prices are displayed in any other currency, this will be clearly indicated.

3. Costs other than the sales price

  • Internet connection fees: depend on your own telecommunications contract.
  • Platform fee: a 15% platform fee is charged to creators on the sales price of each guide. This rate may be changed in the future in line with any subscription plans that are introduced.
  • Payment processing fees: payment processing fees charged by Stripe or other payment providers are, in principle, borne by us (the operator).

4. Payment methods

  • Credit card payment (via Stripe).
  • The card brands available follow the specifications and support of Stripe.

5. Timing of payment

  • Purchaser's payment: payment is processed at the time the purchase procedure is completed.
  • Payments to creators: payouts are made via Stripe Connect or similar services in accordance with the applicable payout schedule. Specific payout cycles and minimum payout amounts will be indicated in the dashboard or related documentation.

6. Delivery time

  • Digital content (guides): once payment has been completed, the purchased guide will ordinarily become available for viewing immediately (absent system failures or other issues).

7. Returns, cancellations and termination

  • Due to the nature of digital content, we generally do not accept returns or cancellations after a purchase has been completed.
  • Where there is clear evidence of unauthorised use, duplicate billing or obvious system errors, we will investigate each case individually and respond appropriately.
  • If a cooling-off period or similar right is granted by applicable law, we will comply with such law.

8. System requirements

  • Recommended browsers: the latest version of Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and other modern browsers.
  • Recommended devices: smartphones, tablets and PCs capable of running modern browsers.
  • JavaScript and cookies must be enabled in your browser settings.

9. Service area

  • In principle, the Service is accessible from anywhere in the world. However, use may be restricted from certain regions due to legal or technical reasons, or due to limitations imposed by payment providers and other third parties.

10. Limitations on quantity and other conditions

  • We may set limits on the number of copies sold or the sales period for individual guides. Any such limits will be clearly indicated on the relevant guide's sales page.

11. Special terms and conditions

  • We may run campaigns offering special prices or time-limited discounts. Any applicable conditions and campaign periods will be displayed on the relevant campaign pages.

12. Incorporation of a company

  • The Service is currently operated by a sole proprietor. If we later incorporate a company (for example, a limited liability company), we will promptly update the business name, address and other information set out in this notice.
